The social communication lab is currently recruiting participants for the following studies.
CAREGIVERS & THEIR CHILDREN AGES 12-42 MONTHS OLD THAT HAVE DIFFICULTIES WITH SOCIAL ATTENTION AND COMMUNICATION, OR ARE SUSPECTED OF OR DIAGNOSED WITH ASD
The UTD Social Communication Lab is investigating the effectiveness of a Pathways parent coaching intervention compared to a parent education intervention on improving social, communication and language skills in young children.
The project provides 24 weeks of intervention, with assessments to measure your child’s progress every 12 weeks. Families will be assigned by chance (like flipping a coin) to 1 of 2 interventions
Families assigned to Pathways will receive in-home coaching sessions. Families assigned to Parent education intervention will receive educational video lessons and teleconference sessions.
Assessments are done at the UTD Callier Center, (Dallas or Richardson).
