The Social Communication Lab, directed by Dr. Pamela Rollins, Professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, is housed at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders on the downtown campus of UT Dallas. The lab is dedicated to exploring the social foundations of social communication and language and young children with social interaction challenges and those diagnosed with or at risk for autism.
Our current research examines the effectiveness of parent-mediated interventions in supporting communication development in culturally diverse families, as well as how interactions between caregivers and children foster the development of social communication and language skills. Additionally, we are pioneering AI-driven methods to assess social attention and its role in communication development.
