Who we are

The Language Interaction and Language Acquisition in Children (LILAC) Lab is part of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas. We conduct observational and experimental studies to understand how various groups of children acquire language, including children with autism spectrum disorder, bilingual children and monolingual children.

Where we are

We are located in the Callier Center Richardson on The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) campus in Richardson. The address is 811 Synergy Park Boulevard, Richardson, TX 75080. Free parking is provided for families who visit our lab.

Study Opportunities

We have short, fun studies for young children. We are currently recruiting Spanish-English bilingual toddlers (27-30 months) for a 30-minute online study that families can participate at home and Mandarin-speaking families with a child between 12 and 30 months for an in-person study. Email us at lilac.lab@utdallas.edu or sign up if you would like to participate in our research and contribute to language development science!

Training Opportunities for Students

We will be recruiting undergraduate research assistants for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 in April! If you are interested in joining our team, please complete a BBS Research Portal application here and email Dr. Pumpki Lei Su at lei.su@utdallas.edu once you submit an application.
