We are a cognitive neuroscience lab studying reasoning, decision-making, and human performance. We also study the relationships between the brain and behavior during these processes.
We conduct psychological experiments aimed at better understanding attention, cognitive performance, and cognitive biases. We also examine the effects of behavioral interventions using in-person strategies, gamified virtual technologies, and brain stimulation. We use a variety of outcome measurements to track performance or to capture the biological effects associated with it. These measures include accuracy, speed of response, eye-tracking, pupil dilation, and functional neuroimaging (EEG and fMRI).
We are currently focused on examining decision making by investigating the links between focus of attention on cognitive reflection and cognitive biases, investigating the effects of formatting of the information presented.
We are also actively examining brain stimulation via transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) to improve attention, thinking, reasoning, and decision making, and cognitive performance.
We are located at the Center for BrainHealth in Dallas, TX near Love Field airport and the main campus at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX.
