Dr. Seeon Kim Bio

Dr. Seeon Kim is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Callier Center. She earned her PhD in speech and hearing science from Arizona State University, with her thesis focusing on “The Mechanisms of Auditory Training with Cochlear Implant Simulations.” Prior to her PhD, she worked as an audiologist at a hearing aid center in South Korea, primarily serving elderly patients with hearing loss. She holds her bachelor’s degrees in electronic engineering and English literature from Soongsil University, South Korea, and a master’s degree in audiology from Hallym University of Graduate Studies, South Korea. Her research aims to improve the lives of people with hearing loss by enhancing the use of hearing devices, improving speech recognition through novel auditory training, and reducing listening effort.

In her free time, Seeon enjoys cooking, dancing, and hiking.
