Faculty:

Matthew C. Gardner earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 2014.  He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas in 2019.  In August 2020, he joined the University of Texas at Dallas, where he is an assistant professor.  His research interests include optimal design and control of electric machines and magnetic gears.

Graduate Students:

Salek A. Khan earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. His research interests include the design and analysis of magnetic gears.

Sri Vignesh Sankarraman earned his B.E. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Anna University, India, in 2016, and the M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany, in 2019. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include design, optimization, and control of electric machines, magnetic gears and power converters.

Ahmad Daniar earned his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran, in 2014, and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2017. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include design, modelling, optimization, and control of electric machines and power converters.

Sina Khalesidoost earned his B.Sc. degree in power electrical engineering from Tehran University, Iran, in 2018, and the M.Sc. degree in power electronics and electrical machines from Tehran University, Iran, in 2021. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include design, optimization, and control of electric machines.

Parisa Afsari earned her B.S. in electrical engineering from Islamic Azad University in 2013. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Her research interests include the design and analysis of magnetic gears.

Danial Kazemikia earned his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Khaje Nasir Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2019. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests include design, optimization, and control of electric machines, magnetic gears, and power electronics.

Undergraduates:

Manuel De Jesus Contreras is working towards his B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from UTD. He is involved in the Formula SAE Electric Vehicle team on campus. His research interests include powertrains for electric vehicles and renewable energy.
