Welcome to Our Lab

We investigate the basic relationship processes that are associated with relationship functioning and the links between romantic relationships and physical health. Our close relationships have a profound influence on our health having the capacity to be both beneficial and detrimental. Yet, we still know very little about the specific biopsychosocial pathways through which close relationships protect and promote (vs. impair) health and well-being. How do our close relationships get “under our skin” to influence our health? How do our interactions in our close relationships influence our health behavior and vice versa?

Some of the topics that we are currently investigating include:

  • Stress, social support and coping processes in romantic relationships
  • Romantic and family relationships and Sleep
  • Attachment processes and health
