My personal experience as an immigrant woman scientist has made me committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in my research group. I am sensitive to the challenges that minorities face in academia, and I am aware of how the academic environment can sometimes be unwelcoming and unfair because of a particular race, ethnicity, language, immigration status, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, and neurological and physical ability schema. Thus, I am determined to make a difference by ensuring that everyone is given equal opportunities to flourish in their scholarly activities. In Torabifard’s lab, we welcome everyone!
