Welcome!

Our research interests are in the fields of advanced materials and manufacturing. Among materials, we study metallic glasses, crystalline metal alloys, lattice structures, and composites. We use thermoplastic forming techniques for metallic glasses and powder-bed-fusion additive manufacturing for crystalline metals. We are interested in understanding the processing-microstructure-property relationship in metallic materials. Characterization methods include electron microscopy, mechanical testing, and corrosion analysis.

Some milestones for our group:

Oct 2023:  Bharath wins 2nd place in ME graduate poster presentation, congratulations!!

August 2023:  Kalyan joins the team as a PhD student, welcome onboard!

June 2023:  Akib and Shweta successfully defended their dissertations!!

Congratulations to the first PhDs from our lab and we wish them all the best for their future!

January 2023: Our lab receives new NSF grant! We are grateful for the financial support.

March 2022:  Laser-Powder-Bed-Fusion Printer (SLM-Solutions HL125) is installed and fully functional.
