Daisetta Sinkhole Sequence of Events

• May 7, 2008 major sinkhole initiated in Daisetta, texas (~100 km NE of Houston)
• Surface collapse localized along NW boundary of a salt dome
• Sinkhole grew to ~200m in diameter and ~ 45m in depth in 8 hours
• Call for Terrestrial Laser Scan on May 17; May 18 deployed from pacific Northwest; on site in Daisetta on May 19 (54 hour response time)
