Celia Escabi Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA

Celia graduated with her AuD in 2017 from the University of South Florida, where she also obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2013. Celia is a certified and licensed audiologist for the state of Texas and she completed her externship experience at the VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. She became a member of the TAP Lab following graduation and acceptance into the PhD program at UT Dallas. Her current research goals include acquiring basic science skills and bridging that together with her clinical experiences. Celia’s primary research interests include pharmacological interventions for hearing loss, adult hearing loss intervention, listening effort, along with the relationship between cognition and hearing. Interest in cognitive decline outcomes with hearing loss led her to also pursue a Masters in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience while working towards her PhD. 

Monica Treviño, Au.D.

Monica is a recent graduate of the UTD AuD program and a third year PhD student at UT Dallas. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Monica joined the TAP lab in 2017 as a second year AuD student, and her experience led her to pursue a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders in addition to her Doctorate of Audiology.

Andie Zang, Au.D.

Andie Zang graduated with her AuD from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2022. Andie is currently a thrid year Speech, Language and Hearing Science PhD student working under Dr. Edward Lobarinas in the TAP Lab. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Mississippi with a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Journalism. Andie joined TAP lab in the spring of 2019 during her first year in the audiology program. Andie’s primary research interests include investigating the primary function of inner hair cells, tinnitus, psychoacoustic measures, as well as adult hearing loss intervention and treatment.

AuD Students

Ariella Rush
Ariella Rush is a third year Doctor of Audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Arts in both Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology. She joined the TAP Lab in Fall of 2020.

Julia Bitar
Julia Bitar is a third year Doctor of Audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She Joined TAP Lab as a first year student in Fall of 2020.

Jessica Sickels
Jessica Sickels is a third year Doctor of Audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. She joined the TAP lab in Spring of 2021.

Farhood is a Junior at UT Dallas majoring in Biology. He joined the TAP lab in Spring 2022.

Lindee Alvarez
Lindee is a second year Doctor of Audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated from California State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication Disorders and Sciences. She joined the TAP lab in Fall of 2022.

Alison Lacey
Alison is a second year Doctor of Audiology student at UT Dallas. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s of Arts and a double major in International Studies and French Studies. She joined the TAP lab in Summer of 2022.
