Because our mission is to teach students and the public about meteorites, we welcome you to visit MERL during our meetings. These are open to anyone who is curious about space rocks, and they are free of charge, but you will need to make an appointment in order to visit us.
Arranging a Visit
If you have a rock that you suspect is a meteorite, come to a MERL meteorite evaluation! We will go through a preliminary procedure where we explain the signs of a rock being a meteorite and show you whether your rock exhibits these signs. An appointment is required for a meteorite evaluation; please see more here: Found a Meteorite?.
If you would like to visit MERL for a different reason (like learning about meteorites or taking a look at our collection), you are required to make an appointment for a MERL general visit here: General Visit.
Location
We are located on the first floor of the UT Dallas Research and Operations Center (ROC), room ROC 1.201. Our address is 17217 Waterview Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75252. To find us, please consult the comprehensive guide and/or the interactive maps, all of which are available below.
