Centrifugation Tool

PLQY Measurement Tool

  • Vertically mounted, CW, 150 W Ozone-free xenon arc lamp
  • 1200 groove/mm blazed at 330 nm (excitation) and 500 nm (emission), plane ruled; automatic self-calibration of all wavelength drives and slits
  • Monochromators: All reflective optics, Czerny-Turner spectrometers
  • Emission: R928P photon counting PMT (185-850 nm) and reference photodiode for monitoring lamp output
  • Slits: Continuously variable from 0 to 29 nm
  • Accuracy: 0.5 nm
  • Repeatability: 0.1 nm

Micro Photoluminescence System (μPL)

  • Excitation: Coherent MIRA 750nm-830nm @ 120fs, 400nm (frequency doubled 800nm) @ variable excitation rate (using AOM), 725nm(PicoQuant) @ 100kHz-80MHz
  • Confocal high NA (0.9, air) excitation/collection objective with Olympus IX71 confocal microscope
  • Spectral detection range:
  • Andor DU420 (VIS/IR) and LN cooled CCD spectrometers 400nm – 2μm (Princeton Instruments SP2300 and SP2500)
  • TCSPC electronics with 40ps time resolution

Single particle spectroscopy

  • Single QD characterization (TCSPC electronics-200ps)
  • Sub micron precision motors coupled to IX71 confocal microscope for single NQD positioning
  • Excitation wavelength tunability from 405nm-IR (supercontinuum generation and PicoQuant laser head) with tunable repetition rate (MIRA coupled with AOM to pump SC generation)
  • High efficiency signal collection using oil/water immersion objective – Zeiss Fluar 100x NA=1.3, Olympus UPLSAPO 60XW NA=1.2
  • Hanbury Brown and Twiss geometry combined with spectral detection range 400nm-2μm – LN cooled CCD spectrometers (Princeton Instruments SP2300 and SP2500)
  • Compatible with liquid helium/nitrogen temperature measurements in Oxford MicrostatHiRes2

Pump/Probe Optical Spectroscopy

  • Picosecond time resolution in reflection and transmission geometry
