Main Lab
CELL CULTURE ROOM
In the Jones Lab, our team conducts cultures of various cell types, including neutrophils, B cells, microglia, astrocytes, cancer cells, and endothelial cells. This roo, serves as the primary environment for preparing these cells. After cultivation, the cells are loaded into microfluidic devices for further analysis. Time-lapse imaging of these cells is then performed in our dedicated microscope room, allowing for detailed observation and study.
Our cell culture room is equipped with a Class III biological safety cabinet designed for handling infectious agents and maintaining a sterile environment. This cabinet features an advanced airflow system to protect both the user and the samples from contamination. Additionally, it includes UV light for decontamination between uses, ensuring sterile workspace at all times
IMMUNOENGINEERING MICROSCOPE ROOM
Our microscope room is a cutting-edge facility designed to support advanced research and imaging needs. It features fully automated Nikon ECLIPSE Ti2-E microscopes with high-resolution cameras and advanced optical components for a wide range of microscopic techniques, alongside a fully automated Zeiss fluorescence microscope.
The room includes high-sensitivity detectors, real-time image acquisition systems, and precision environmental controls to ensure optimal conditions for sensitive biological samples. Additionally, it offers high-performance data analysis workstations and a dedicated server for secure data backup, providing researchers with the highest quality tools and environments to conduct groundbreaking research.
GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM
Our lab is equipped with a comprehensive gas supply system that provides essential gases such as CO2, nitrogen, oxygen, and air. The system includes precision regulators and flow meters to ensure consistent and accurate gas delivery. Centralized gas distribution with multiple outlets offers easy access throughout the lab.
Integrated safety features, including automatic shutoff valves and gas leak detectors, ensure a safe working environment. Backup gas cylinders maintain a continuous gas supply during primary system maintenance or emergencies. Regular monitoring and maintenance schedules are in place to ensure the reliability and safety of the gas supply system.
CHEMICAL FUME HOOD
Our lab is equipped with three high-efficiency chemical fume hoods specifically designed for the safe handling of volatile and hazardous chemicals. These hoods feature advanced filtration systems, including HEPA and carbon filters, to ensure user safety and maintain a contaminant-free environment.
The fume hoods are equipped with automated sash windows that can be easily adjusted to different heights, providing flexibility and an added layer of protection. Internal lighting and ample workspace facilitate safe and efficient laboratory procedures. Additionally, integrated storage compartments offer convenient access to necessary chemicals and reagents.
MICROFABRICATION ROOM
In the Jones Lab Microfabrication Room, we manufacture both simple and complex microfluidic devices using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), an elastomer that enables the transformation of various designs into usable biomedical technologies. Our microfabrication space is equipped with spin coaters, oxygen and air plasma machines, and specialized heating equipment to ensure precise and efficient fabrication processes.
PHLEBOTOMY STATION
The phlebotomy station is a dedicated area where blood samples are collected from healthy donors for various research purposes, mainly related to neutrophil and B cell migration assays. Here, our skilled phlebotomist uses sterile techniques to draw blood, ensuring the comfort and safety of each healthy donor.
The collected blood samples are then labeled and sent to the cell culture room for neutrophil or B cell isolation and further experiments. This station is equipped with all necessary supplies, including sterile needles, collection tubes, bandages, and comfortable seating for healthy donors to ensure a smooth and efficient blood draw experience.
