We are excited to announce that Dr. Jie Zhou has joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in August 2025.
Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on semiconductor heterojunction devices and interfaces, developing next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices based on lattice-mismatched materials ranging from (ultra)wide-bandgap and (ultra)narrow-bandgap semiconductors.
His new group, the Heterogeneous Engineering Device (HED) Lab, will be housed in the Natural Science and Engineering Research Laboratory (NSERL) at UT Dallas. The lab will leverage the advanced cleanroom facilities at UTD to explore wafer-scale grafting techniques, high-performance devices, and bio-integrated electronics, while training the next generation of engineers and scientists.
Stay tuned for updates on research highlights, publications, and opportunities to join the HED Lab!
