Professional Experience
Dr. Zhou received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (Advisor: Prof. Jack Ma) in 2023 and his M.S. (with distinction) in Microelectronics from Peking University, China (Advisor: Prof. Zhaoyu Zhang) in 2018. Dr. Zhou is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor with the ECE department at The University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to that, he was a Visiting Scientist at Northwestern University, USA (Prof. John A. Rogers) and a Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (Prof. Jack Ma).
Dr. Zhou actively works on semiconductor lattice-mismatched heterojunction devices, including transistors, diodes, photodetectors, LEDs, and lasers. He also develops semiconductor nanomembrane devices for bioelectronic applications.
Dr. Zhou has published over 50 journal and conference papers. He also serves as a technical reviewer for more than 20 academic journals, including Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, IEEE Electron Device Letters, IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, Applied Physics Letters, etc.
