My geochemistry experience began with ultramafic enclaves that I collected in Hawaii.  This allowed me to gain experience using modern geochemical techniques such as the JEOL electron probe microanalyser, laser ablation ICP-MS, and the Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (SIMS).   Mass spectrometry will allow me to establish ages for the crystal basement underneath Texas using uranium-lead isotope geochronology methods from zircon. Combining these powerful analytical tools with structural geology and geophysical methods will allow me to contribute to our limited understanding of the Precambrian history of North America.
