Bio: I received my B.Eng. from Tiangong University and M.Eng from Tianjin University. Then I further obtained my Ph.D. in Prof. Dezhong Zhou’s group at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Now I am mainly engaged in the research of hemostatic biomaterials and gene delivery in Prof. Yongsheng Gao’s group.

PhD Students

Wanyu Zhao

2nd-Year PhD Student

Bio: I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Jinan University, China, and finished my MSc at the National University of Singapore. I was working to design a genetically encoded GTP metabolic biosensor for my MSc capstone project under the supervision of Prof. Thorsten Wohland and Dr. Cathleen Teh. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Gao lab to investigate the role of platelet-like materials in hemostasis and other diseases. I am good at Chinese calligraphy and enjoy traveling in my spare time.

Chen Wang

1st-Year PhD Student

Bio: I received my bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Shandong University and my master’s degree in Chemistry from Tianjin University. I am now a PhD student in Dr. Gao’s lab, focusing on the research of soft biomaterials. Outside the lab, I’m a food enthusiast who loves exploring new dishes!

MS Students

Yu-Yi Lin

MS Student

Bio: I’m Yu-Yi Lin, but you can also call me Jessie. I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. Before joining this lab, I worked in a nanogold research lab, where I explored biochip applications and used nanoparticles for experimental validation. Outside of research, I enjoy watching movies, following sports, and listening to music, especially musicals and jazz. I also work as a private tutor and love connecting with students through teaching.
