Junior Innovators Challenge

Hiruni Wansapura, a talented student from Jasper High School, has been named a Top 30 Finalist in the 2024 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. Hiruni is a high school intern at FDT Laboratory working on CFD simulations of sycamore seed-inspired fan blades and has shown exceptional creativity and dedication to STEM research. As a finalist, Hiruni will travel to Washington, DC, from October 25–30 to participate in the finals week of the competition.

The Junior Innovators Challenge, organized by Thermo Fisher Scientific and the Society for Science, is the nation’s premier STEM competition for middle school students. All finalists will receive a $500 cash award and compete for over $100,000 in prizes. Congratulations to Hiruni! We are so proud of her accomplishments and the quality of her work.
