The experimenta.l. Animation Lab, is a collaborative lab in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, at the University of Texas at Dallas, directed by Dr. Christine Veras.
This is a space for creative research and critical practices in animation that welcomes the participation of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and external collaborators. We encourage experimentation via a variety of techniques, tools, and interfaces.
We introduce and invite collaborators to exchange ideas that challenge traditional understandings of animation to open discussion of alternative possibilities that will inform and challenge current practices in the field. This includes, though is not limited to, the remixing of old and new technologies and uncovering creative connections through the understanding of the applications and implications of more experimental and material processes of animation.
Check here a list of shorts produced in the lab.
