About Vetrivelan

Vetri was born and raised in Tamil Nadu (southern part of India). He received his undergraduate degree (iMSc) from the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN). His undergraduate research focused on organocatalysis for the preparation of spiro compounds. In 2016, he joined the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM) as a project assistant in Dr. Ramesh Rasappan’s laboratory, where he worked on the development of new silicon-based nucleophiles in cross-coupling reactions. In 2018, he began his PhD studies at IISER-TVM under the supervision of Dr. Ramesh Rasappan, where he worked on metallaphotoredox catalysis, specifically photochemical hydrogen atom transfer reactions. In addition to research activities, he enjoys cooking, playing badminton, and learning about new electrical and electronic technologies.
