August 2025 – Victoria Pastor and Ivelize Freire join the lab as first-year PhD students. Welcome Victoria and Ivelize!
Summer 2025: Ryan Ju (undergraduate student), Areeba Fatima (Clark student) and Vladislav Shutko (visiting student) attended the Summer Platform for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). They all did an amazing job and received an award for their poster presentation. Congratulations Areeba, Ryan and Vlad! 🥳

May 2025: Catherine attended the Peripheral Nerve Society meeting in Edinburgh and presented her first poster as PhD student!

December 2024 – The lab went to Northside to celebrate the end of the semester, Sneha’s award and Miriam’s graduation.

December 2024 – Sneha won the CAPS Undergraduate 3-minute Thesis Competition for her work “Novel miRNAs in diabetic peripheral neuropathy”.
November 2024 – Dr. Diana Tavares received a grant from The Merkin Peripheral Neuropathy and Nerve Regeneration Center to characterize the cellular and molecular profile of human peripheral nerves with and without diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
August 2024 – Catherine Campen joins the lab as our first PhD student. Welcome Catherine!
July 2024 – An undergraduate student in the lab (Sneha Gummadi) and two Clark students (Shaun Meppidayil and Cooper Lane) attended the Summer Platform for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). Sneha won the Office of Graduate Education Award during the SPUR poster competition for her poster titled: “MicroRNA Profiling of Human Peripheral Nerves Reveals New Insights into Diabetic Neuropathy”.
